Future Continuous Tense
Definition: The future continuous tense is used to describe actions or events that will be ongoing or in progress at a specific point in the future. It relates one action in the future to another specific action or time. The future continuous tense is also known as the future progressive tense. It is formed by using the helping verb “will be” or “shall be” and the present participle (4th form of the verb).
Future Continuous Tense in Hindi/Urdu
Future continuous tense hame bhavishya ya mustaqbil ke us zamane ke bare me batata hai jis me koi kaam darmiyan me hoga ya ho raha hoga. Positive Sentence:
Subject+will/shall+be+verb 4th form
Examples:
- She will be sitting on the plane tomorrow. (Wo kal jahaz me betha hua hoga.)
- You will be thanking me for this. (Tum iske liye mera shukriya ada kar rahe hoge.)
Negative Sentence:
Subject+will/shall+not+be+verb 4th form
Examples:
- He will not be working with us if he does not understand. (Agar wo nahi samajhta to wo hamare sath kaam nahi kar raha hoga.)
- You can meet me at 5 O'clock, I shall not be doing anything at that time. (Tum mujhse 5 baje mil sakte ho us waqt main kuch nahi kar raha honga.)
Interrogative Sentence:
Will/Shall+subject+be+verb 4th form+?
Examples:
- Will you be waiting for me when I will come? (Kya jab main aonga to tum mera intezar kar rahe hoge?)
- Will she be working at the office during the morning? (Kya wo subha daftar me kaam kar rahi hogi?)
Uses of Future Continuous Tense
a) To Describe Actions in Progress in the Future (Bhavishya ke Jaari Kaam):
The primary use of the future continuous tense is to describe actions or events that will be ongoing at a specific time in the future.
Examples:
- At 8 PM tonight, I will be watching a movie.
- They will be working on the project all day tomorrow.
b) To Express Future Plans and Intentions (Bhavishya ke Iraade aur Mansoobe):
It is often used to talk about future plans and intentions, emphasizing that the action will be in progress at a particular future time.
- I will be visiting my grandparents next weekend.
- She will be celebrating her birthday with a party on Saturday.
c) To Make Polite or Tentative Requests (Narmi Se Vinti Karne Ke Liye):
The future continuous tense can be used to make polite or tentative requests about future plans.
Examples:
- Will you be coming to the meeting tomorrow?
- Will you be attending the conference next month?
d) To Predict Future Actions or Events (Kaamo Ki Bhavishyawaani ya Peshgoi Karne Ke Liye):
It can be used to make predictions about future actions or events, especially when there is evidence or expectation that the action will be ongoing.
Examples:
- I think it will be raining when we arrive in London.
- By this time next year, they will be living in a new house.
e) To Express Assumptions and Inferences (Umeed ya Qayas Lagane Ke Liye) :
Sometimes, the future continuous tense is used to express assumptions or inferences about future events based on current knowledge.
Examples:
- The way he's studying, he will be acing the exam.
- With all the traffic, they will not be attending the class today.
