Definition of Noun

A noun is a word that names something, like a person, place, thing, or idea. Nouns are really important in English because they help us talk about stuff. They can talk about real things you can touch, like a book or a tree, or ideas and feelings, like love or freedom. Nouns can have words like "a" or "an" before them, or they can have describing words like "big" or "happy" with them to give more details. Nouns can be one thing (singular) or more than one thing (plural), and there are seven different types of nouns. Nouns usually do the job of being the main thing doing something or having something done to them in a sentence.
